If you buy or sell goods using their weight to determine the price, you need a scale approved and verified for that purpose. If you are unsure, tell us how you use the weight reading and we can help you choose suitable equipment.

No. Calibration checks a scale’s weighing performance. Trade approval and verification address separate legal requirements. A calibration certificate alone does not make a standard scale legal for trade.

Repairs or adjustments can require the scale to be requalified before it returns to trade use. Contact us before arranging work so we can assess the repair and any verification requirements.

Regular calibration helps you monitor accuracy and identify problems. How often it is needed depends on usage, working conditions and your quality requirements. Calibration does not replace any required legal verification.
